At the Far Out event on September 7th, alongside the iPhone 14, Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 8, its latest smartwatch. What’s new in the Apple Watch Series 8 design? How long does the Apple Watch Series 8 battery last? What features have been improved? How much does the Apple Watch Series 8 cost? Let’s take a closer look!

Apple Watch Series 8: A Stunning Design
The Apple Watch Series 8 retains the familiar design of its predecessors, featuring a square watch face with curved edges. While it doesn’t boast the completely redesigned, sharper edges rumored earlier, I personally find the finish very appealing and optimized for user experience. The softly curved corners create a harmonious overall look, and the curved edges ensure comfortable wear without pinching the wrist.

Instead of a complete design overhaul, Apple chose optimization, and I appreciate this approach. Essentially, Apple Watches are still highly regarded for their attractive, elegant, and easily recognizable appearance. Therefore, rather than a complete redesign that might lack optimization, making the product even better is the logical approach at this time.

This year’s Apple Watch Series 8 is available in two materials: aluminum and stainless steel. The aluminum version comes in four colors: Black, Gold, Silver, and Red. If you prefer stainless steel, you can choose from Graphite, Silver, and Gold.
On the right side of the Apple Watch Series 8, you’ll find the Digital Crown, microphone, and Side Button. The left side is completely unadorned, while the top and bottom edges house the watch band attachments. The button placement remains familiar, making it easy for upgraders to adjust.

Continuing the trend from previous generations, the Apple Watch Series 8 features an optimized bezel, appearing thinner and creating a visually appealing, almost edge-to-edge display. The screen glass is also slightly curved, providing a seamless transition to the watch casing. All these elements combine to create a beautiful Apple Watch Series 8 with an optimized user experience.

The Apple Watch Series 8 screen is approximately 20% larger than the Apple Watch Series 6, optimized for features like the Always-On Display, new watchOS 9 watch faces, and the QWERTY keyboard for messaging. Furthermore, the Apple Watch Series 8 offers IPX6 dust resistance and WR50 water resistance, providing peace of mind in various conditions.
Apple Watch Series 8: Enhanced Health Features
Rather than focusing on a new design, Apple has equipped the Apple Watch Series 8 with enhanced health and fitness features, emphasizing the company’s core value: providing users with tools to monitor their health, track fitness, and assist in emergencies.

A key new feature of the Apple Watch Series 8 is the Temperature Sensor. This sensor monitors your temperature during sleep, tracks changes in real-time, retrospectively estimates ovulation, and estimates cycle deviations. This data, combined with heart rate and cycle data, provides a detailed overview of women’s health.

According to 24h Cong Nghe reviewers, the cycle-tracking tool on previous Apple Watch generations proved very useful and accurate. This tool allows women and even men to monitor the health of their loved ones. With these improvements and upgrades, the cycle-tracking feature on the Apple Watch Series 8 promises to be even better, more accurate, and more convenient!
The Apple Watch Series 8 also boasts new wrist temperature sensing technology using two sensors located on the underside of the watch, in direct contact with the wrist, and on the watch face itself, collecting data every five seconds. This allows users to monitor body temperature, blood flow, and compare it to ambient temperature.

The crash detection feature on the Apple Watch Series 8 is also highly praised. This feature can detect if you’ve been in a serious car accident. After detecting an incident, the device automatically connects to emergency services, providing location information and notifying your designated contacts.

This is a truly high-utility safety feature, similar to the fall detection feature on the Apple Watch Series 4, potentially life-saving in emergencies. In addition, the Apple Watch Series 8 includes improved features such as low-power mode, heart rate zone tracking, personalized workout customization, and the ability to record and compare your run results.
WatchOS 9 on the Apple Watch Series 8: A More Intuitive Experience
The Apple Watch Series 8 runs on watchOS 9, which I consider a standout feature. While other generations can also update, I believe watchOS 9 is better optimized for the Apple Watch Series 8.

With watchOS 9, you get a new workout tracking interface, allowing you to customize workouts, switch between multiple sports, and track your heart rate zones more easily during exercise.

WatchOS 9 also introduces a new Medications app. After setting up your medications in the Health app on your iPhone, the Apple Watch Series 8 can alert you to the timing and dosage of your medication. The device can even adapt to time zone changes and provide timely reminders.
Apple Watch Series 8 Price and Value
The Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to be priced starting at $429 (prices may vary depending on the retailer and promotions). Personally, I consider this price appropriate given the new improvements and upgrades, particularly the impressive safety features exclusive to the Apple Watch Series 8.

With its attractive design, useful safety and health features, I consider the Apple Watch Series 8 one of the best smartwatches available right now. What are your thoughts on this product? Let us know in the comments below!
